According to a WinInfo article by Paul Thurrott published over the weekend, Microsoft will soon be releasing a new beta of Windows 64 supporting both AMD and Intel 64-bit CPU?s.

The good news is that the pricing for the 64-bit windows OS is supposed to be the same as the 32-bit OS … which should help encourage adoption. In fact, Microsoft is expected to promote a trade-in program so customers can buy 64-bit processors now, with Windows XP, and trade in XP for the 64-bit OS once it’s released in the Spring of 2005.
