I suspect this tool is just the result of one of Google's internal bloggers frustrations, and isn't really as polished as it would be if they'd actually made a decision to create such a tool. It also doesn't work "with tablet ink":http://www.makeyougohmm.com/20050816/2248/, and doesn't handle complex situations like tables at all. Still, _way_ ahead of using a simple text box, or even "TinyMCE":http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/ for posting.
