Well, if you haven’t read about this already, where have you been?
The Mozilla project has released a new version of their Firebird browser (a couple of weeks behind schedule, I think [;)] but anyway). The big news is … that they renamed it again. Meet Mozilla’s Firefox browser Hopefully, this will be the last such renaming; they’ve applied for the trademark this time. [:-p]
To make this post worth mentioning, let me point you at a couple of other cool free downloads I haven’t had time to post.
DateLens is an outlook calendar interface you just have to see … (watch the video if you don’t think it’s worth downloading, or if you don’t have Outlook)
Outclass is a free bayesian filter for Outlook. It’s actually just a plugin, it uses POPFile for the heavy lifting, which is awesome! I love POPFile because you can set up multiple categories (called buckets) for your email, not just spam/not-spam. And it’s over 99% effective on my email at home (now that I’ve got it trained), even with 8 categories set up.
CounterPoint is pretty cool too, it’s a Java based plugin for Microsoft Powerpoint … it lets you try a whole new way of navigating your slideshows. It’s rather slow, but it’s still very cool, especially when I consider that the technology behind it has now been released in a (very slick) .NET beta and is available under the Mozilla Public License for anyone to use in their products!
