Blingo is the latest thing in web searching: get paid to use a particular engine. Actually, in this case, it’s a pretty simple decision:
- Blingo returns Google search results, so the results are Google good.
- Blingo has nice options for making it the default engine in Firefox and IE, etc …
- Blingo gives you a chance to win prizes when you do a search through them! Plus, if you win, your friends (a.k.a. referals) win too! (so sign up using this link
, you really don’t have anything to loose).
So, to sum up, Google results + a chance to win prizes = Blingo … that is all. Oh, and one other thing: I’m going to redecorate the site tonight, so if you’re visiting Monday Dec 19th, bear with me if things look funny.
What I’m curious about is how does Blingo make money? Do they put extra ads in. Regardless, how does Google feel about having their site scraped and used?
Also, your site looks much better. It doesn’t scroll horizontally on small screens anymore. Hurray!
They do their own advertising … which is a tiny bit more in your face than Google’s … but I’m not actually sure how they’re managing the whole interface to Google, I was assuming they’re using the Google API, or are actually a covert Google setup to try new ways to market search engines.
Do we see a phenomenon here? I love these free sites.. SearchChips is just like Blingo but you can win a trip to Vegas!
