Well, if you’ve never read LockerGnome, let me give you a reason: They give away software!

ActiveWords turns any typing into action! For instance, if you type “close” in any application and press the ActiveWords key (F8 is the default) the program closes. But of course, it can also do auto-correction, like what you get in Word, except, in all your programs. And the most important thing is that you can add more commands and auto-corrections on your own. There’s tons of extra features and you get a full license for being a LockerGnome reader. (But only for another 3 days or so). That’s the $19.95 version. Of course you’ll love it, and you may want to try ActiveWords Plus (the $49.95 version) which has scripting built in, it’s really cool.
